My mother, Helen M Patterson, was a member of the Artist community in Pleasant Hill for many years. She used everything from oil to watercolors. As her son, I inherited her artwork, which has been shown around the community for years. I decided to join the East Bay Artists Guild to promote her work and her legacy. Most of the work she left is watercolor paintings with a few oils or egg tempera. As her children, we all have her works in our homes. She was always traveling and drawing small pencil sketches for future work.
Her education at San Jose College in Art and as a Teacher kept her interest in passing on her skills to others. She worked part-time as a substitute teacher in the Mt. Diablo school district.
