Solo Opera

Solo Opera is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit opera company and a Professional Company Member of Opera America. Founded in 2000, our mission is to educate, entertain, and enrich the community through our main stage opera productions, concerts, and outreach programs. In addition to performing traditional operatic and musical repertoire, Solo Opera also focuses on 20-21st century chamber opera, short one act operas, opera in English, and new works by Bay Area composers.

Solo Opera is committed to educational outreach in the Bay Area and offers a number of activities with that commitment in mind. Part of our mission is to go out into the community to help educate people about opera, especially youth. We pride ourselves on being a nonprofit that produces family friendly works (main stage and outreach) focused on children/teens and giving them opportunities to perform in our shows at the Lesher Center for the Arts.
