Village Community Resource Center

Village Community Resource Center (VCRC)’s After School Academy, located in Brentwood, CA is a vibrant hub of learning and support for children and families in East Contra Costa County. Established in 1997 following a community tragedy, VCRC emerged as a beacon of hope and resilience, providing a safe, fun place where kids could gather, play, and enjoy arts and crafts.

Brentwood is not your typical after school program. We engage with students with hands-on projects, mindfulness activities, viewing the world around us, and so much more! We strive to provide kids with more educational opportunities and partner with them to become more well-rounded in life. VCRC recognizes the importance of family involvement through its Parent Academy (a part of The After School Academy), equipping parents with the skills to connect with and support their children in their educational journey and beyond.

Driven by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, VCRC works to interrupt cycles of despair, giving families health- and prosperity-building tools so that they and their children can create better futures.

VCRC has evolved into a comprehensive resource center dedicated to promoting equity through education, wellness, leadership, and partnerships. In essence, VCRC stands as a testament to the transformative power of community commitment and compassion, demonstrating that when families are empowered and supported, the entire community benefits.
