David Dugoncevic
David Dugoncevic is an artist born and raised in Southern California, who currently lives and works in San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated in 2018 with a BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute on a Merit based scholarship. Upon graduating he received the Outstanding Painting Undergraduate Award, the Virgil Williams Prize, and the Ivan Majdrakoff Art Materials Award.

Artist Statement
Please provide a brief description of your creative process, motivations, and inspirations:
My practice revolves around the investigation and inspection of past visions of the future, or worlds, that best navigate the here and now. My paintings explore the intersection and portrayal of masculinity, intimacy, nostalgia and reality through Objects, Pulp Novels, Kitsch, and Pop Culture. My work appropriates these objects, visions and myths creating new forms and narratives which highlight these fantasies and at times lived realities.
