I draw and paint using water media and recently have been enjoying making collages with painted paper and recycled catalogs. My artwork is inspired by nature and my own intuitive process around color and composition. I have been making art since childhood. I grew up in Russia and have several artists, tailors, poets, and architects in my family tree. In college I studied fine arts and architecture, but went on to pursue a career in Asian medicine. Attending “process painting” retreats with Barbara Kaufman in 2010’s brought me back to creative exploration after a long break. Then, while being sheltered in place during the pandemic, making art seemed to be the only thing that made sense.
