MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST

Artist Statement

Please provide a brief description of your creative process, motivations, and inspirations:

After decades of working with words, I am a latecomer to art and mostly self-taught. I paint the things I see that speak to me–in nature, in my home, or in my neighborhood. When I paint I’m trying convey that wordless message; whether I succeed is up to the viewer to decide.

I am a California native, but spent time in Washington and New Mexico while growing up. As an adult I lived for six years in Virginia, and was very happy to come home to the same part of  Northern California where I grew up.
