Marina Omelianenko is a Ukrainian-born watercolor artist based in San Ramon. Raised in Odesa by the Black Sea, she first began capturing the world around her through photography — drawn to light, texture, and quiet moments. Over time, watercolor stole her heart with its wild, fluid nature and unexpected charm.
Now a software engineer, mom, and weekend hiker, Marina carries a sketchbook wherever she goes — from coastal cliffs to forest trails. Her paintings celebrate the beauty of the natural world, blending vivid color with soft detail to evoke a sense of presence and peace.
Marina’s work has been exhibited in galleries and community shows throughout the Bay Area. She’s an active member of the Tri-Valley artist community and continues to explore, paint, and share what moves her — one sketch at a time.

I’m drawn to the way water and colors blend on paper, bringing to life the stunning scenes of nature I find around me. As I paint in the open air, I feel a deep connection with each scene, whether it’s the vibrant hues of a sunset or the delicate shades of a quiet stream. My art is about sharing these moments, these flashes of beauty, in the most genuine way possible. It’s a celebration of nature’s unpredictability and the joy of capturing it on paper.
