Asian Artists Walnut Creek

A community where Asian artists connect, create, exhibit, and grow together.

Asian Artists Walnut Creek (AAWC) is a volunteer-based, project-driven artist collective connecting Asian artists, art enthusiasts, and the broader community in Walnut Creek and the greater Contra Costa County area.

We are more than an art group—we are a growing community of artists who are passionate about developing our creative practices, sharing our experiences, and creating opportunities to introduce Asian art and artists to the community.

AAWC brings together artists from diverse backgrounds and artistic disciplines, including traditional Asian arts, painting, mixed media, and contemporary art. We welcome artists who are inspired by Asian cultures, perspectives, and artistic traditions.

If you join AAWC, you will have opportunities to participate in meaningful artistic and cultural activities, including:

• Organizing and participating in group exhibitions during Lunar New Year celebrations.
• Exhibiting in special exhibitions featuring selected AAWC members during Asian Chuseok celebrations.
• Being invited to participate in external group exhibitions and community art projects.
• Visiting exhibitions by Asian artists together and sharing inspiration as a creative community.
• Being invited to Asian cultural gatherings, artist networking events, and opportunities to introduce your work or share your artistic journey.
• Volunteering at public institutions throughout Contra Costa County to teach Asian painting classes for teenagers and younger generations.

Through curated exhibitions, cultural events, workshops, and community collaborations, AAWC creates opportunities for artists to showcase their work, connect with new audiences, and continue growing together.

We believe artists thrive when they are connected to a supportive creative community. AAWC provides a space where artists can share ideas, develop their practices, celebrate Asian artistic traditions, and introduce their work to the wider community.

Whether you are an emerging artist, an established artist, or someone who appreciates Asian art and culture, AAWC welcomes you to join a community that celebrates creativity, cultural connection, and artistic growth.
