Trey Hill created Bones and he is a sculptor and professor based in Missoula, Montana, where he teaches in the School of Art at the University of Montana. His practice focuses on large-scale ceramic and mixed-media sculpture, often combining clay with materials such as steel and wood. Hill’s work explores the tension between structure and fragility, using abstraction and organic form to evoke natural and architectural references. He has exhibited internationally and participated in artist residencies in China, Denmark, Latvia, and Hungary, among others. Hill also co-founded the international ceramics collaboration The Studio of the North in Denmark, promoting cross-cultural exchange among artists.
